It’s Summertime on the Mountain!

Bring the whole family to Jim Oliver’s Smoke House!

We have summer area events as well as live music every Friday & Saturday night. The shows are free and family friendly.

Show times are 7pm – 10:30pm and our cozy music room opens at 6pm.

Stay over a few days in one of our cozy lodge rooms or one of our 21 Timber Frame or Log Cabins.

Vanessa Hill

Vanessa Hill has a history of organizing events and writer’s nights across the South including: The Country Music Foundation (‘Words and Music’ and ‘Camp Summer Song’) President and Founder of “The Color of Music” Recognized songwriter in Bill Board Magazine for “We Dared the Lightening” Recording Artist with Sony Tree/CBS Nashville. Wrote and performed in commercials for Nashville Electric Service and Vanderbilt Hospital.

Served as Mayor of her small home town in Alabama during which she organized the First City Fireworks and Entertainment, and brought a quarter of a million dollars into the city budget within her first six months as Mayor without affecting taxpayers.



John Bell, Travis Bowlin, Mabus Jackson

These singer/songwriters will be doing a Nashville-style round where each songwriter will take turns performing one of their songs back and forth.

These rounds are a fun time and the interaction between the songwriters is always a crowd pleaser.

Dave Pahanish

Dave Pahanish is an American singer-songwriter. He co-wrote the No.1 Billboard country music singles “Do You Believe Me Now” by Jimmy Wayne, “American Ride” by Toby Keith, and “Without You” Pahanish co-wrote with Joe West and was recorded by Keith Urban in 2012.

The song became Urban’s 12th No. 1 single and Pahanish and West’s third No. 1 song. Pahanish has also had songs recorded by Tim McGraw.   

He also co-wrote and co-produced the Top 40 Billboard Hot Country Songs charting single, “I Will”, by Jimmy Wayne.


Courtney Holder

From Chattanooga, TN, contemporary country artist Courtney Holder is a singer/songwriter who portrays a style of pop country. She is inspired by hit singer Miranda Lambert and bluegrass roots such as Alison Krauss. She has performed at famous venues such as Silver Dollar Saloon, Tootsie’s, Bluebird Cafe, and The Row in Nashville.

She performs locally at Southside Saloon and Tremont Tavern. Courtney plays acoustic shows all over Middle and East Tennessee, as well as North Georgia.

Fourth of July Parade – Saturday, July 4th ~ 9am

LOCATION: Parade starts behind The Smoke House Lodge.

TIME: Line-up is at 9am and the Parade starts at 10am.

THEME: “Travel Across America”.

MSAA Annual Fourth of July Picnic – Saturday, July 4th ~ 12pm – 3pm

LOCATION: On the Mall, MSAA Grounds, Monteagele, Tennessee 37356

DESCRIPTION: Bike Parade, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation and Music.


Sewanee Parade & Fireworks – Saturday, July 4th ~ 2pm

4th of July parade begins at 2pm starting at the Sewanee Market and ending at the hospital. Fireworks show will begin after dark at Lake Cheston.


Monteagle Fourth of July Fireworks – Saturday, July 4th ~ 8:30pm – 9:30pm

Travis Bowlin

Travis Bowlin, born in Aurora, Indiana in 1988, was destined for success at a very young age. Having been trained in classical style singing and performing with the Cincinnati Boys Choir, Travis took a hard right turn to Rock ‘n Roll and Soul.

Going to the school of hard knocks and having a near death experience has made Travis Bowlin a great writer and a humble man with the voice of a giant!

Travis has been performing in the Greater Cincinnati area and has gathered a conglomeration of great fans that he loves.

He is very down to earth and deals with his fans personally!

Robert Burgeis

To say that Burgeis is a fast rising star would be putting him exactly where he’s always aimed to be. Shortly after moving to Nashville from a little town near Bakersfield, CA, he landed much sought after gigs with such name acts as Big and Rich, John Michael Montgomery, Aaron Tippin, Mel McDaniel, Jamey Johnson and many more.

In addition to his large Nashville fan-base, Robert has been playing national stages all over the U.S. and making thousands of fans along the way. Playing more than 200 dates a year, this one and only ‘Rednek RokStar’ shows no signs of slowing down! As a producer, Robert Burgeis opened his own state-of-the-art recording studio where hundreds of demos and master productions have been recorded.

Nolan Neal

Bigger than life, captivating energy and boundless talent are just a few ways that don’t even come close to describing the Nashville based artist/singer/songwriter, Nolan Neal.

When he performs you get a feeling that the music is exploding from his very soul. In addition to being an incredible singer, he’s an accomplished songwriter, guitar player, drummer and a producer who has an innate sense of a song’s total expression.

Flat River Band

Andy, Dennijo, and Chad Sitze are three brothers that are the Flat River Band. 

They grew up playing music with their grandparents and parents, and have performed at venues all across the U.S

 If the group Alabama grew up in the same house as the Bee Gees and they got together with the Marshal Tucker Band, you have experienced the Flat River Band.
